Sophisticated Home Bar Design

Your lower-level space can be used for a variety of purposes. Because these spaces are separate from the rest of the home, they can be transformed to meet your specific needs. One of the main highlights of this project is a sophisticated and elegant home bar built in collaboration with MA Peterson. Originally the lower level was open but dark and carpeted. The homeowners' main goal was to define rooms and create a fun and inviting place to entertain.

One of our favorite design aspects of this home bar is the curbed seating area. Aesthetically it is unique, but it also functions as a comfortable place to sit and have an intimate conversation with one another. In the backdrop, floor-to-ceiling custom espresso/brown stained oak cabinetry. The lovely wood grain shines through and the paneling found on the front of the cabinetry repeats in the adjacent sliding barn door. For storage, the cabinets on the countertop provide ample space and provide a framework for mirrored-backed glass display shelves. Lastly, the top row of the cabinets uses glass doors and lighting to highlight treasured golf memorabilia.

Here's a closer look at the mirrored-back and glass display shelves. Inspired by vintage spigots and classic soda fountains, we used a Kohler, Artifacts® Gentleman's® faucet. Below, an attractive hammered stainless sink.
