Imagination Unleashed: Play Room Designs

Designing Spaces for Kids
As parents, we want to give our kids a safe place to explore, learn, and have fun. Understandably so, we also don't want their toys and games to take over the entire house. We often design bedrooms crafted for each child, and when space allows for it, a play space. Below are 3 tips on how to design a unique space just for them.

Tip #1: Think outside the box, but be practical
If space allows for it, a playroom will give you lots of options. In this project, we had a lot of fun designing this custom playhouse with a slide. Of course, a plush, but durable carpet for comfortable play. We intentionally left plenty of room for running around or sprawling out with toys and books.
Tip #2: Squeeze it in where you can
Sometimes our homes don't have the space to dedicate a room as a playspace. Transforming that under-the-stairs space in your home may be the answer you're looking for. In this lower-level remodel, the space under the stairs was finished, and completed with jelly jar lighting and a comfy place to sit.

Tip #3: Find special spaces within their room
Don't overlook the potential within their own bedroom. Finding special spaces within their room can add an extra layer of excitement and creativity to their everyday playtime. Look for nooks, corners, or alcoves that can be transformed into mini-play areas. For instance, in this sweet pink room, a custom ladder and railing lead to a loft space. A perfect, quiet space to enjoy time alone or with friends.

Finally, a reminder to have fun and be bold
Each child is unique, and their space should reflect who they are and what they love. Create a dedicated area for your child's interests and hobbies. Be bold and have fun!
